Signatures (Overview)

Signatures can be captured and displayed on the relevant documents to provide evidence to your customers that goods or services were provided. This can be crucial for requesting payments or in the case where equipment is damaged or customers have breached your terms and conditions.

Set up Terms & Conditions

Before capturing signatures for sales/hires, you must first set up your terms and conditions as per the Help Guide.

Signature Capture Methods

  • Remotely via email, where the customer signs on their device.

  • In-person, using a portable device, like a tablet or phone.

  • Over the counter, where the customer signs on a tablet, which is logged into HirePOS as a "Signature Pad Only" user.

Scenarios

  • Email booking to request signature
A request can be sent to a customer in advance via email or SMS. Typically the customer reviews the document and T&Cs and signs off prior to the job commencing.

  • Invoice signature in-person (or out on site)
This signature can be obtained via the "Get Signature" button located at the bottom right of the Invoice screen when the customer picks up the hire goods from your business, or when you are out on site with the customer.

  • Delivery Signature
The "Delivery/Pickup Schedule" displays a "Sign" button next to jobs to obtain a signature from the customer when delivering goods. The customer is just signing the Delivery Docket in this scenario.

  • Pickup Signature
As per the Delivery Signature, you can obtain a signature for Pickups as well. The Sign button will show in the "Delivery/Pickup" Schedule in the same manner, and the customer will be signing the Pickup Docket.

  • Over-the-Counter Signatures
You can set up a user account for a tablet device dedicated to taking signatures over the counter, as per the Help Guide.
