Advanced Month settings

The 'Month' unit requires some advanced settings to auto calculate accurately over many months due to the 28~31 days a month variations. The following settings will get your Month unit calculating as intended.

  1. Go to Setup > Item Related > Selling Units.

  2. Click the Month unit to edit, or if you don't already have a Month unit then click the New Selling Unit button at the top to create a new unit.

  3. The Unit Description field can be any description you like; however Month or Monthly are most common for this unit.

  4. Set the Time Span field to 30.43687
This is the average number of days in a month.

  5. Select Day from the Interval dropdown.

  6. Check the Base on Calendar Day (Exclude Times) checkbox.
This will prevent the calculations from being time sensitive, and will just calculate based on days.

  7. Set the Grace Period to 72
We need a few days grace period to allow for the variance between 28 to 31 day months. Some scenarios may allow customers an extra day or two grace, however the above set up provides the most accurate auto calculation over many months.

  8. All other fields in all tabs should be blank or unchecked.

  9. Click the Save Changes button towards the bottom after you're done.
