Selling Unit Groups

Unit Groups provide more advanced functionality for the Autocalc feature.

For example, you could set up three "Day" units and three "Week" units, which represent three different pricing groups.

In this case, you could have three pricing groups of A, B, and C, and set up six selling units in total, i.e. Day-A, Day-B, Day-C, Week-A, Week-B, and Week-C.

With each selling unit, you specify the Unit Group in the Selling Unit details screen, via the Other tab as shown in the image for this help guide.

Autocalc Behaviour with Unit Groups

If you add an item to an Invoice with the Day-A selling unit and the hire is later extended, then the unit will be auto-calculated from a Day to a Week. Autocalc will choose the Week-A selling unit as it belongs to the same unit group. Whenever unit groups are used, any other selling unit outside of that unit group is ignored in the auto-calc process.
